Give your portfolio a route into Asia, backed by evidence

Investors want portfolio companies that grow their revenue and their reach, because that is what drives the next round and the exit. Asia is often the obvious next market, and the hardest to justify without evidence. We read the signals in the region to show whether, where and how a company should expand, then put it in front of the right people, partners and opportunities. It is value your founders notice, beyond the capital.

The same signals show where to grow, and what to back.

Every approach we make on your behalf starts with a reason it is relevant now, found in the signals of your industry, then a route in through our network where one exists.

What is available varies by market and by licence, so The Workshop settles what can be found for you before any outreach begins. Every approach is agreed with you first.

For the fund

More than capital

Research, signal-driven business matching and introductions across Asia are value your founders feel, and a reason for the best of them to choose you. The same signals show the fund which companies in the region are worth backing.

Frequently asked

Asked by investors

Do you raise capital for funds or portfolio companies?

No. We do not raise capital or act as a placement agent. Our work is growth: evidence for where a portfolio company should expand, and the introductions and pipeline that follow.

How do you show whether a company should expand into Asia?

We read the signals in each market: tenders, hiring, funding, competitor activity and customer demand. That gives the company, and its board, evidence for which market to enter first and why, before money is spent on headcount.

Can this help the fund, not only the portfolio?

Yes. The signals that show where a region is growing also show which companies there fit your thesis, so the same work supports your own sourcing. And offering founders research and introductions across Asia sets you apart from investors who bring only capital.

How does a programme for a portfolio work?

That is on our group programmes page: a pilot with one company, then workshops, training and campaigns across the portfolio, and how it is priced.
