Growing a semiconductor or electronics business in Asia

Southeast Asia is now one of the great semiconductor corridors, from wafer fabs in Singapore to assembly and test in Penang and new capacity in Vietnam. Every new line needs equipment, materials, software and services, and every supplier has to be qualified before it can sell. We find the fabs, assembly and test sites and electronics manufacturers that are expanding now, and put you in front of the engineers and buyers who qualify suppliers.

OUR NETWORK

Illustrative, not client data. Every line is a signal we can collect: from a public source, from data we license, or from our network.

Who we work with

Semiconductors and electronics companies we help grow in Asia

B2B and B2B2C companies, from their first conversations in the region to a team on the ground.

Equipment, tools and materials

Qualified on the line

Getting evaluated, qualified and specified by fabs and assembly and test sites.

Usually led by VP sales Asia, business development director
Software, data and automation

Selling to engineering and operations

Reaching the fab, yield and quality leaders who own the budget for software and automation.

Usually led by Head of Asia Pacific, account director
Electronics and components

Design-ins and supply contracts

Winning design-ins with manufacturers and contract manufacturers, then the supply agreement.

Usually led by Head of international sales, distribution manager
How we find them

A new fab is announced years before it buys. That is the window.

Every approach we make on your behalf starts with a reason it is relevant now, found in the signals of your industry, then a route in through our network where one exists.

Who is arriving

New fabs, assembly and test sites and electronics plants, announced long before the tools are ordered.

Who just changed

New fab directors, procurement heads and supplier quality leads.

What is moving

Capacity expansions, supplier qualifications, hiring for new lines and shifts in trade flows.

Who we already know

Distributors, industry associations, economic development agencies and the trade agencies that bring semiconductor companies here.

PUBLIC

Public sources

Investment and plant announcements, economic development agency releases, hiring and appointments, industry association member lists and exhibitor lists.

LICENSED

Data we license

Trade and customs data, project and capacity databases, firmographic data on manufacturers and suppliers.

OUR NETWORK

Our network

Distributors and representatives we know, industry associations and trade agencies.

What is available varies by market and by licence, so The Workshop settles what can be found for you before any outreach begins. Every approach is agreed with you first.

Visits, events and roundtables

Coming for SEMICON Southeast Asia?

Tell us who you want to meet. We identify who will be there and who should be, and book the meetings before you land. If you would rather host, we build the invite list for a roundtable or dinner and fill the room.

Arranged through partners

The groundwork, handled

We do not do this ourselves. We work out what you need, bring in specialists we have worked with before, and stay involved.

Frequently asked

Asked by semiconductors and electronics companies

How do you get a supplier in front of a fab?

Early. We track the announcements, hiring and qualification activity that show a new line is coming, find the engineers and buyers who qualify suppliers, and approach them with a reason to talk while the choices are still open.

Do you work in Malaysia and Vietnam as well as Singapore?

Yes. Much of the region's assembly, test and electronics manufacturing is in Penang, Kulim, Johor and northern Vietnam, and we work with partners on the ground there.

Can you help us find a distributor or representative?

Yes. We look for partners with field engineers and existing relationships at the sites you need, test their appetite for a new principal, and introduce you.

Do you handle incentives and site set-up?

We arrange it. Incentives, facilities and company set-up are handled by specialists we have worked with before, and we keep them connected to the commercial plan.

Start with a 15-minute call
