Go-to-market advice for teams doing it themselves

Not every company needs an agency. You may already have a team, a tight budget, or a clear wish to build it yourselves. What you need is someone who knows this region and the current playbook. We give you practical next steps: which signals to act on, the tech stack to use, the grants that fund it, and the local connections and partners that make it work.

When this makes sense

You may not need an agency, but you do need someone who has done it here

Some companies will never hand their go-to-market to an agency. The budget is not there, there is already a team, or they want to build the capability themselves. What is missing is the current playbook, and how it works in this region. That is what advisory gives you, one practical step at a time. If you would rather have the work done for you, see pipeline creation or fractional sales.

What we advise on

Current go-to-market practice, applied to Asia

Everything we advise on is tech-driven and practical. It is the same thinking behind our Insights, applied to your business: signal-driven, opened up through our network, and grounded in how each market works.

Read our Insights →
1

Signals. Which buying signals matter in this region, such as hiring, funding, new leaders and technology changes, and which ones your team trusts that are noise here.

2

The tech stack. Which data, enrichment, automation and CRM tools to use, in what order, and what to leave out. Our sister firm, The GTM Studio, can build it with you.

3

Grants. The grants that can help fund the build, and how they fit the plan rather than drive it.

4

Connections into the local market. Who to talk to, which introductions are worth asking for, and which events are worth your time.

5

Local partner execution. Which partners to work with, how to get them selling, and where the cloud marketplaces and hyperscalers fit.

6

Local nuance and business culture. How decisions, relationships and pace differ from market to market, and what that changes about the plan you brought with you.

How it works

Advice in the shape you need it

Some leaders want a call when a decision comes up. Others want a standing session every fortnight. Either way, every session ends with practical next steps.

Ad hoc

A call when it matters

Which market, which partner, which hire. Book time when a decision comes up, not on a retainer you do not use.

Mentoring

Time with our founder

Regular sessions for the person carrying Asia, from someone who has built channel and sales in this region.

Coaching

For the team

Your regional lead or sales team, on current technique: signals, sequencing, the tools behind them, and how selling here works.

Practical steps

What to do next, in order

Each session ends with the next steps, in the order that suits your stage, and who on your team owns each one.

Network

Who to talk to

Where the advice ends in a name, we make the introduction: a partner, a specialist or an agency we have worked with.

Credentials

Advice with a track record

Our founder is a New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Beachhead Advisor and an ACE.SG mentor, and co-founded The GTM Studio.

Frequently asked

Go-to-market advisory questions

Who is this for?

Companies that want to run their own go-to-market in Asia: teams that already have people in place, companies without the budget for an agency, and those who want to build the capability in-house. It also suits leaders who have just been handed the region.

What will we get?

Practical next steps. Which signals to act on, which tools to set up, which grants to look at, who to meet, and which partners to approach, in the order that makes sense for your stage.

Is this consulting, mentoring or coaching?

All three, depending on what you need. People search for a go-to-market consultant, a sales strategy adviser, a mentor for Asia expansion or a coach for the team running the region. Go-to-market advisory is our name for it: practical advice on signals, the tech stack, grants, local connections, partners and business culture, as ad hoc calls, mentoring or coaching, for teams doing the work themselves.

How is this different from The Workshop?

The Workshop is a single structured hour on your go-to-market that finds what is holding revenue back, with a written analysis afterwards. Advisory is ongoing: the calls, mentoring and coaching that help you act on it. Most advisory clients start with The Workshop.

Do you do the work as well?

Not under advisory. If you need the work done, pipeline creation, partner search and recruitment, and fractional sales are the services that do it. Advisory is for teams who want to do it themselves, and do it well.

What is GTM engineering?

Building the data, signals and automation behind a go-to-market, so a small team can reach a large market and still say something specific to each company in it. It covers what is often called sales automation, data enrichment and outbound infrastructure. We advise on it; our sister firm, The GTM Studio, builds it.

What is signal-driven selling?

Our name for selling that starts from a signal rather than a list. You approach an account because something has changed that makes it likely to buy now: a new leader, a funding round, a hiring push, a new tool. It is our way of doing what most people call lead generation or outbound prospecting.

Build it yourselves, with the right advice

Start with a 15-minute call. We will tell you where advice will help most, and if The Workshop is the better first step, we will say so.
